Timothy, who is in the school play, and John, the captain of the football team, go to the same geography class and fall in love. It is 1976 and their love meets with strong opposition within their Catholic high school as well as their conservative families. But Tim and John don't let their feelings get in the way and stay together. Opening up their relationship, a place at university in Sydney, all test their love. The autobiography of the same name by author Timothy Conigrave was published in 1995.
