The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone

Karen Stone is a former Broadway star in her 50s. For the sake of her husband, she has swapped her career for a boring marriage. On a trip to Italy together, her husband suddenly dies of a heart attack. In her loneliness, Karen meets a glamorous but mysterious woman called Contessa, who works as a kind of pimp. She sets Karen up with the much younger gigolo Paolo. Karen begins a passionate affair, but increasingly falls for the young man.
